We have seen Old Faithful twice, and visited all kind of amazing scalding hot water pools. We have to take turns to go in, and wait for the other since Luna is not allowed.
On 7/14, we got a picnic table next to the river and had lunch there while Luna played in the water. She lost her ball to the current.
Temperatures have dropped to 39 degrees at night, and we have heard wolves howling in the middle of the night. It’s an unbelievable feeling. We are so close to nature now.
Mike continues to cook, and since we are in bear territory decided to switch to non- perishables only, so we are eating can food, at least for now :-)
I haven’t been able to paint for a while… I miss it. I don’t have internet, so I can‘y take any more classes, but I have some knowledge and skills that I can apply on my own.
7/20/21- Today is our last full day in Yellowstone. We will be heading out to Grand Teton in the morning. We have been extending our stay because we wanted to see everything in the park. This park is huge by the way, it takes hours to go from one end to the other. Traffic is slow since everyone is stopping to see wildlife.
My favorite place so far has been the lake, water so clear you can see colorful rocks on the bottom.
Coming from the West entrance we have gone in all directions so far except for Mammoth, that’s where we are heading today.
These are the top places I would recommend:
Old Faithful
Grand Canyon of Yellowstone
Hidden Valley
Yellowstone Lake
